One of my latest projects is going full force! You may have seen the logo I developed for OrigAudio’s Spring Forward Tour, but if you haven’t…here it is on the right. OrigAudio is sponsoring the band StillTime on a west coast tour that ends at SXSW in Austin, TX. The tour now has a site that is up and running so that you can follow StillTime while they are on the road. Below is a screenshot of the design, but be sure to stop by springforwardtour.com to keep up on the latest info from the road, listen to some tunes and see pics too.

OrigAudio has been getting air time all over the country from being featured in TIME magazine’s top 100 inventions of 2009, to Fox&Friends News, to a spot on NBC’s Today Show. Now OrigAudio has popped up on the set of Good Day Sacramento. Never before have they actually shown a screenshot of origaudio.com, the e-commerce website that I designed. I have been super busy designing all sorts of great things (websites, logos, stationary, brochures and more!) for all of my great clients and its that time again to share it with the world. I’m headed out of the country today! First stop London Heathrow Airport. 4.5 Hour layover to check out the digs and see how many words I can find with an extra ‘u’. I hope the Brits can deliver on all of the design genius I am expecting. Next stop, Vienna. Since I can’t speak German, the true beauty of typography and layout is all I can rely on.

I am constantly looking at the world with an objective eye, searching out the latest and greatest from the design world. I recently stumbled upon a great site where you can create your own eBusinessCards. This is brilliant! What a great way to get noticed if you are just coming back from an interview. Meet someone at a marketing event? Make sure you keep in touch. Check out Hoocard…maybe the next big saying is ‘Hoot Me’…hmm…maybe not?

Papyrus..really?

Ok, I must admit that I haven’t gone to see Avatar. (shock & awe..its what this blog is known for) BUT I have seen many movie trailers and posters for the movie and even my jaw dropped when I noticed that Papyrus is used for the title. Really? Papyrus! It’s nearly up there with Comic Sans as one of the all-time, most played out, wouldn’t use it even if the client told me to, crappy to begin with, fonts! If that didn’t express my true feelings enough, here is a more eloquent, comedic rendition, curtsy of Pr*ttySh*ttyDesign.

A New Year…New Work

Alright, I admit it! I have become as bad as 75% of the people who start blogs…I blog every now and then and never constantly. I’m sorry this blog never really took off as I intended it to. But I have so much work to blame for that and that is something that I just can’t complain about!

So here’s to a new start on blogging. Look for new work to be added to the site soon, a trip abroad and my opinions on current events and happenings!

Pumpkin Designing

Its that time of year again when the vacant spot in your local strip mall turns into a fantasy land filled with outrageous costumes, decorations and more, and a flood of candy hits every isle in the supermarket. Yes, its just a few short days until Halloween and to really get into the spirit I put my carving skills to the test.

In order to recreate the thrills of my childhood, my sister and friends got together to carve some pumpkins. I must admit, I haven’t carved a pumpkin in at least a decade, so this was really a treat. Being nostalgic and all, we purchased the $5 pumpkin carving set, you know the one with the plastic knives that you always break half way through your design, and picked out some a template and got started. The templates have really come a long way as far as quality goes and that made me thing, who is out there designing these? Unfortunately, I haven’t come across the answer to this question, but it just goes to show that design is everywhere!

And the finished product? Here’s a snapshot:

Halloween just isn’t for kids these days. Artists everywhere are getting in the spirit and making designs that are really out of this world! Here’s a collection of a few of my favorites:
